League of the Red DragonInitiated by Nicky Mapa (MSIE '03), the League of the Red Dragon aims to give scholarships to varsity team members who have also maintained a satisfactory level of academic performance. This is for all of us to remember that the ideal UA&P student is not only one who performs well in the classroom, but one who lives UNITAS - a balanced, consistent life. President's CupCurrently headed by Coach Tyrone Limon (ABHGHUM '98), the President's Cup is a basketball tournament for students and alumni. The most recent tournament concluded in March 2009. For inquiries, contact Coach Tyrone at tyrone.limon at gmail.com.Yahoo! Group moderatorsThe UA&P alumni Yahoo! Group is moderated by alumni. OAA thanks the moderators for maintaining the group for six years, despite their busy schedules.Admissions marketing teamWho can best sell UA&P? You, the alumni. The Corporate Communications Office (CCO) handles a group of alumni who'd like to be more involved in promoting UA&P to prospective freshmen. Typically, an alumnus/a goes to his/her own high school to tell them about UA&P. For those outside Metro Manila, they also help by giving presentations on UA&P to the high schools in their area.Would you like to join the team? Simply contact Mrs. Leigh Duñgo-Tobias (ABHBA '98) at ltobias at uap.edu.ph. Alumni events teamThe events team is a group of dedicated alumni who help in organizing events for UA&P alumni. The team aids OAA in logistics, promotion, and other tasks. Want to be part of it? Contact Ms. Carla Estanislao (ABHPCCOM '04) at cestanislao at uap.edu.ph. | What are Alumni Initiatives?Alumni Initiatives are long- or short-term initiatives whose main proponents are UA&P alumni, and whose beneficiaries are constituents or beneficiaries of UA&P. These are like those projects that students do as part of SEB or their orgs—they are owned by the students but guided and supported by UA&P.The AI is our way of allowing the alumni to express a similar relationship with UA&P. Through AIs, UA&P alumni can be more involved in the growth of the University. OAA, in turn, supports these AIs by providing alumni proponents with administrative assistance and other resources. Some AIs are formal, some are informal. Formal AIs have official contracts with the University. An example is the President's Cup, which has a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with UA&P as regards its charter and its operations. Other AIs are supported by OAA informally, i.e. without the presence of formal contracts. Would you like to set up an AI or join an existing AI? Please contact us at alumni at uap.asia and we'll be glad to answer any of your inquiries. |
