    PresCup kicks off Season 12 in 2012

    The UA&P President's Cup (PresCup) kicked off its 12th season with two sets of games last January 7 at the UA&P Multi-purpose Court.

    PresCup Highlights

    January 22




    EJ de Guzman (#9) had another huge game, as Jagermeister has won back-to-back afetr dropping their opening assignment. Jagermeister (2-1) defeated EM (1-2) last January 22, 92-83. De Guzman is averaging 44 ppg in the tournament.

    Migi Arce and Timothy Y. Uy led EM with 30 and 19 points, respectively.








    Chicoy Alvarez scored 32 points, as he led the All Stars over Team 2006. With the win, the All Stars claimed the top spot in Division 1 and nearer to the twice-to-beat incentive.








    January 15

    Former Dragon Niño Buendia registered the season's division 2 tournament high of 38 points, including 7 from beyond the arc, as the Zero Eight Cobras edged Baland, 90-85 last January 15, at the UA&P-MPC.

    Paolo Darroca and Inigo Lim led the defending champions with 25 and 22 points, respectively, but their efforts weren't enough from stopping the Cobras.

    Baland tries to recover against Team X on January 22; while Zero Eight Cobras won't hit the court again until January 29 against Salmon.


    Freshman Joseph Trajano completed a driving shot down the middle as the buzzer sounded and gave Hoops a close 69-67 victory over Salmon. 

    The former NCAA Jrs. player from La Salle Green Hills top scored with 23 markers. On the other hand, Salmon was paced by Jason Florendo's 22.






    Waffy Fabie scored a game-high 27 points as he led Fusion over Team 2006, 87-60. Fusion is currently 2-0 with Fabie averaging 18 ppg.








    Varsity Dragons Tim Timothy Y. Uy and Migi Arce led EM to a 77-65 victory over Young Money, at the continuation of the 12th President's Cup at the University of Asia & the Pacific. Uy had 27 points, while Arce added 13, as EM notched its first win after losing to Fusion last January 7.

    Young Money was paced by Gelo Pascua, who scored 17 points. They fell to 1-1.


    EJ de Guzman scattered a tournament-high 45 points, including the go-ahead 3-pointer with 4 seconds left, as Jagermeister defeated the Alumni All Stars, 79-78. He was aptly-supported by Bert de Leon's 22 markers.

    Con Alampay led the All Stars with 20 points. Both teams are now carrying 1-1 win-loss records.
