Master Plan on How to Put Up Your Own Restaurant

The Entrepreneurial Management Program is holding a workshop on putting up a restaurant entitled “Master Plan on How to Put Up Your Own Restaurant.” Running from July 30, the workshop aims to prepare aspiring restauranteurs in opening a restaurant or bar and turn a dream into reality.

The workshop includes writing a master plan, construction and layout, menu management, budget and feasibility, handling human resources, among many others. The workshop will feature Eduard Hoogeweegen, founder of EH Hotel Consultancy, having more than 40 years of experience in the hotel and resort industry under his belt.

Mr. Hoogeweegen was the president of the Hotel and Restaurant Association of the Philippines (HRAP) from 2000 to 2001. He was part of the “Opening Team” of the 1,004-room Hua Ting Sheraton Hotel in Hanghai, China, the 360-room Harare Sheraton Hotel in Zimbabwe, and the Pristine Lotus Spa Resort at Inle Lake, Burma. The workshop will run for five successive Saturdays: July 30, August 6, 13, 20 and 27, at Dining Halls 1 & 2, Administrative and Library Building, UA&P. Participants will be given a Master Calculator template on all accounting needs, as well as other handouts that will be discussed during each day of the workshop. There’s a 5% early bird rate for those who will register before July 8, while another 10% discount applies to alumni and students. Should a participant qualify for both criteria, he/she avails of a 15% discount.
