By UA&P Alumni

A new Parking and Sports Building (PSB) will soon rise inside the UA&P campus along Pearl and St. Josemaría Escrivá Drives in Ortigas
Center, Pasig City. A groundbreaking ceremony was held on February 7 to mark the start of the building construction, which also kicks off a series of construction projects under the University’s Development Office.

The ceremony was led by University Chaplain Fr. Roberto Latorre and attended by University officers and representatives from the local government, Ortigas Center Association Inc. and Barangay San Antonio. A delegation of UA&P faculty, staff, and students were also present to witness the event. In his brief remarks, UA&P President Dr. Jose Maria Mariano said that breaking the ground and planting the “seed” that will grow to become the home of the University’s athletes and hub for its fitness-loving friends is truly just another expression of the University’s commitment to become the university of choice. The guest of honor, Mrs. Maribel Eusebio, wife of Pasig City Mayor Robert Eusebio, expressed her best wishes for the UA&P’s endeavors and extended her gratitude to the University for helping Pasig City form competent professionals and morally upright citizens.

The PSB will house three levels of an all-weather parking facility for varying vehicle sizes, while the fourth floor will provide sports and recreational facilities. Its construction is expected to boost the sports program of the University and provide ample parking slots to students and visitors. The project is expected to be completed by July 2013.
