UA&P Firestarters in Japan!

By UA&P Alumni

Dear fellow UA&P Dragons and friends,

The UA&P Firestarters Cheerleading Team has been invited by the Gymnastics Association of the Philippines (GAP) – Cheerleading Philippines and the Asian Federation of Cheerleading (AFC) to represent the Philippines in the 8th Cheerleading Asia International Open Championships which will be held in Tokyo, Japan on May 15-20, 2014. Note that the said event is the biggest cheerleading competition in Asia and will be attended by invited teams from all over the continent.

The UA&P Firestarters were invited to the competition after they were declared Champion in the recently concluded 44th WNCAA Cheerleading Competition and 1st Runner-Up in the 12th WCSA Cheerdance Competition. They are ably led by their coach Alejandro Mendelebar, a respected figure in the Philippine cheerleading scene, who has had extensive local and international competition experience.

The University Student Government (USG) would like to appeal to your generosity as they campaign to raise PhP 1,500,000.00 to cover the expenses of sending the UA&P Firestarters to this prestigious competition. The USG hopes to partner with you to give their fellow talented and hard-working students the opportunity to make the country proud in the international arena. At the same time, your support will greatly assist in fulfilling UA&P’s mission to develop proper values in the youth through excellence in sports.

Please refer to the sponsorship letter. Should you be interested to support the UA&P Firestarters, please feel free to contact Ms. Paz Santos at 637-0912 loc. 349 or email her at for inquiries. Thank you.
